I WON A Hamilton Beach® and Eclectrics®

WOOHOO! I couldn't believe it but I was one of the lucky ones to win a Hamilton Beach® Stand Mixer! I received a yellow one today and just had to write about it. First of all, it is a beautiful color. It's called Pineapple to be exact and really brightens up a dull kitchen. The features that come with my Eclectrics® Mixer are awesome.

It features:

400 watts of power

2-way mixing rotating action

Stainless Steel 4.5 quart bowl

Pouring shield

Quick Release tilt up head

3 mixing accessories

Not to mention it comes in many wonderful colors! I'm so excited to have have won this. Now I can make Christmas cooking easy as pie. HA! I'll be able to add ingredients and let it mix while tend to other things in the kitchen. It will also keep my arms from developing Carpal Tunnel..lol. Seriously, your arms can get tired of stirring dough and such.
Just in case you missed it in the video below, I included a recipe that I will be making with my new mixer. If you missed it, just leave me a comment and I will more than happy to send you the recipe! Hopefully you will be making this recipe with the help of a brand new Hamilton Beach® Mixer!!

Move to Wordpress

If you haven't already done it, you need to. Blogger is great for newbies, but I HIGHLY recommend you all to get away from blogger. Your freedoms are being taken away (like with the new commenting system) and it lacks in quality and respect.

Once you've been to wordpress, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. The plugins are amazing, the stats are awesome, and it runs FASTER than blogger! Make the change today!

100 Free Blogger Cards

Business cards for the Internet are the hottest thing around! What better way to leave your signature behind, right?! Basically, you are given a personalized tag cloud to show off. I love this idea and will will be getting myself some to use for my other blog. Right now you can get Free blogger cards so take advantage of the offer before it changes. This will give you a chance to see how it works and if you like them. I talk quite a bit about marketing and promotion and this fits in perfectly!

Small Things Make a Difference

Today I want to talk about a couple of things that can make a big difference.

1. Make sure your "Email this Post" is turned on. A good friend of mine pointed this out. This is a good way to get it distributed to people who may not have knowledge of your site.

2. Have your links open in a new window! I think this is a very important one. If someone clicks on a link you have provided you want them to be directed to that site but you also want them to stay at your site. If you don't have them to open in a new window, then you risk their attention being redirected to other possible links at other sites. It requires basic html knowledge so I will give you an example:
Say you are going to check out some credit resources.. notice that in the second link I added target="_blank". This is what makes it open in a new window.

Fun Christmas Finds

I have a family member who collects salt and pepper shakers so when I saw some Hug Salt & Pepper Shakers at vat19.com, I knew they would be a perfect gift. This is such a cool site. I cannot say that enough. They have some of the neatest products. In fact, I made a short video on some sample products I received from them. I received a gourmet smencil (great for the kids), Instasnow (more great fun to do with the kids), and a Ambient Fire Video Fireplace DVD. This was so realistic looking and the music was a joy to listen to. I can't recommend this site enough! The prices are great and the products are so much fun. I LOVE IT! Enjoy the video.

Stock Tip: Sell Your Google Stock

I highly recommend you sell your Stock now. It has been dropping anyways and this is just a small something we can do to get back at the selfish gods. They have given all of the posties a big fat 0 for PR!!! All they care about is themselves. It really is sad to see them be so selfish and hurt people who are paying the bills with paid to blog companies. Hit them in the checkbook people.

Website Solutions

When you have your own website, something you will be implementing is Internet Marketing and Promotions . Unless your blog is personal, all websites need this. Yourownsite.com offers Internet marketing, web development, and more. The site is jam packed with information including IDX solutions for realtors. It's definitly a place to go for all your programming needs. Check it out and get a quote while your there.

I don't understand why they can't make some kind of official statement explaining this. Do they think there are Gods or something. Come on YAHOO!! Do something big and over take the search engine war!

A New Future

Back at home in Sweetwater, the wind farms have evolved. While they are not the pretties to look at, they do an important job. They provide energy and can actually cut down emmissions by a billion tons a year! If you don't know what all that means, then you need to learn about it and support BP Solar Decathlon in their efforts to convey to the people how using alternative energy can change how we live in this world.

There are so many complaints on the electric bills, etc but the people complaining are doing anything about it. Do you turn off electronics when they are not in use? Do you recycle? NO?? Then don't complain if you are not going to do your part.

I think a big problem is that people are just uneducated. They need to be taught the benifits of alternative energies and what it can, not only, do for you but for everyone in the environment. It's about preserving everyday living.

If you want to learn more, check these sites out.
alittlebettergasstation.com
thegreencurve.com
ebiweb.org
bpalternativeenergy.com

They are very imformative and easy to understand. They break it down for you and even quiz you to see where you are on the green curve. I did very well but can you say the same?

Just a note: BP is investing $500 million into the Energy Biosciences Institute to find better solutions in reducing energy consumption. $500 million!!! That should tell you right there how important it is. That's a huge investment. Even if you don't change your ways completely, there are small things you can do to help. Support the Alzheimer's Foundation

I have blogged about this at my other blog and I am so glad I have the chance to do it here on this blog. I have had a few sad experiences with Alzheimer's patients and can only hope and pray for a cure one day. A good friend of mine deals with this situation on a daily basis because her mother has Alzheimer's. I have seen her mother scared to death of her own husband because of the simple fact that she didn't even recognize him. Can you imagine how, not only the mother, but her dad must feel?

I don't think people realize how hard it can be dealing with an Alzheimer's patient. There is a lot of hard worked involved. Unfortunately, there is a lack of quality care for this disease. That's one of the reasons I am blogging about this today! There is something you can do to help, so listen up. We are all looking for that perfect holiday gift this season so help out by buying your gift at the estore for Alzheimer's. You will be killing 2 birds with one stone by doing this. You get that special someone a gift for Christmas AND by making that purchase through them, you are also donating to a wonderful cause. Every cent will go to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Sometimes we are selfish and need a little push every now and then to do good things for other people. Well, here's your push. PUSH!

Pass this along to everyone you know and let us all do something charitable this holiday season. Who knows, that neighbor, mail person, or family friend may have someone in their family with this disease and would love to contribute to the foundation as well. It's all about the full circle. I strongly believe that, in order to receive, you must give first. The money raised will help continue and better the care that these individuals need. Please do your part by spreading the word and making a purchase today!

Monetizing Your Business

Previously owning an online business, I know how important it is to maintain it. Salesconx online marketplace is there to help you maintain and monetize you business. They help you with your current contacts, as well as, help you establish new clients! Membership is free and from there you will have the opportunity to establish a buyer and seller price just as if you were in a marketplace. Very convienent and something to consider to help your business grow.

Fight Back Against Stolen Content

Publishing your website can be one of the most exciting times for a business owner. After all of your hard work and persistence, the whole world now has access to your products or services. You have either paid hundreds of dollars to have someone write your site content for you, or you have put your heart and soul (not to mention hour upon hour of hard work) into creating content of which you can be proud. In either case, you've invested time and/or money into your website copy. Now that it is out there for the whole world to see, it may be a target for all kinds of unscrupulous individuals.

Copyright infringement is a very common occurrence on the World Wide Web. How do you protect yourself? And, what can you do if someone steals your content?
It's important for you to know that anything you have written is copyrighted. You can register a copyright, but you don't need to in order for it to be illegal for someone to copy or reproduce your work without your permission. Any written text, painting, drawing, musical composition, photograph or computer program, be they published or not is protected by copyright law. Unfortunately, just because your work is copyrighted doesn't mean it is safe. Some individuals don't know that copyright laws apply to the internet, and others simply don't care.

With millions of websites out there, it's difficult to know if your website has been targeted by thieves. A great tool to use in the protection of your website content is www.copyscape.com. Simply enter your website URL and it will scan the web for you. This is a free service, but if you have been a frequent victim of copyright infringement, you might want to consider their paid service, which automatically scans the web regularly for any duplicates of your content.

What do you do if you are one of the unfortunate victims of copyright infringement? How can you deal with the offender and avoid the high cost of litigation? The following are some simple steps that you can take to ensure that the infringer removes your material from their website.

1. Contact the offender. You can usually visit the "contact" page of the offender's website to obtain their contact information. If for some reason you can't find their coordinates that way, you can perform a search for "who is" to find many sites that can provide information about the website owner by simply entering their URL. The website owner's contact information should be posted here, but if not, their website host will be and you should contact them. Keep your first contact civil. Calling or emailing the responsible individual with a stern, yet professional demeanor will be much more effective than yelling or name calling. Remember that the owner of the site isn't necessarily the writer, and if they are, then being nasty may not have the desired effect and in fact may create more problems for you in the long run.

2. Send a cease and desist order. If your initial contact didn't get the desired results, your next step should be to send a cease and desist order. You do not need to hire a lawyer to create one for you. A simple search for "cease and desist order templates" should give you an order that can be altered to meet your needs. Send one copy by email and one copy by registered mail and make it look as official as possible. Include a date by which the material should be removed. You want the offender to know that you mean business

3. If action is still not taken, send a cease and desist order to the offending party's web host. Again, the host information is available by performing a search for "who is". The majority of hosts will take action by temporarily removing the offender's site until the copied material is removed.

4. The situation should be resolved at step 3, but one more step that can be taken is to notify search engines of the infringement. Performing a search for the "DMCA" or "Digital Millennium Copyright Act" policies for each search engine will provide the information you need to contact each of them in order to request that the offender's website be removed.

Finally, it's always advisable to protect yourself by keeping records of the dates your content was placed on your site. This ensures that the other party can be proven wrong it they claim to have posted their content first.

Placing your website and it's content on the internet for the world to see is a proud moment. It's nearly impossible for you to be able to prevent the theft of its content, but the next best thing is knowing what to do if it does happen

Let Them Know You Care

The one thing we do every single year, is send out Christmas Cards. I figure it's the least we can do to let people know we care and miss them. We try to send cards for all occasions but Christmas in particular. With everyone so spread out over the state of Texas and New Mexico, it is very hard to get together for the holidays. I know I love it when I get a card in the mail so I imagine that most other people would enjoy just as much! It tells them that we are thinking about them. It's a lot cheaper than buying a gift, that's for sure. It would be great to include a picture of the family with the card but we don't take family pictures very often. Who will you be sending a Christmas card to this year? Family, friends, teachers, neighbors, and coworkers are some good examples of who I will be sending cards out to.

How Much Will You Be Spending at Christmas?

With the holidays around the corner, I'm curious to see what people plan to spend this year. with the high gas prices, I figured people would spend less on gifts but I'm not sure. How big is your family that you buy for and how much do you plan on spending? Will you be going to the store or buying online? I plan to do most of my purchasing online! No way am I going to fight traffic!

The Best Web Host!

A while back I wrote my top 10 recommended web hosts on my other blog. Hostmonster was my number one pick for those of you who didn't read it. They have top of the line service, an awesome package, and are extremely reliable. If you don't believe me, you can read a hostmonster review to see what others have to say. You won't find a better company in my opinion but I'll leave it up to you to decide.

Blah Day

I'm feeling blah today. I'm starting to struggle with what to write about on this blog. I think I just a need a little break because I have been spending so much time on my other blogs. Do you ever get the blogging blues? If so, what do you do? With the holidays around the corner, it's important for me to keep these blogs going and to keep doing my sponsored posts so I'll have money for Christmas! I think I'm going for a walk.

Profit from Ebay

Before I started blogging, I had an ebay store. I would buy wholesale and then resale. I would have loved to have had some analytics of the whole buying/selling process to make the best of what I was doing. There is now eBay Research by Terapeak ,which can help you profit by letting you know things such as the right time to sell something, picking the right keywords in your title, and seeing if it's best for you to use a buy it now. I love this and only wish I would have known about it back then. I will definitely remember it for future reference!

1 Tip on Saving

You know when you checkout, you're asked for a promotion code, right? Do you have one? If you don't, you should. My tip today is to take 5 mintues to find a promotion code for the merchant you are looking for. That box is there for a reason people. If you take a few minutes to search for online coupon (store name), then I promise you will save a few bucks. Who couldn't stand to save a few bucks this holiday season! You will find plenty of coupons during the season too so LOOK FOR THEM.

Car Qoutes and Loans and More OH MY

If you need some Honda, Toyota & Ford Car Quotes then you may want to check out Carsblvd.com. You can get up to 2 quotes for dealers wanting your business. They also help you get loans. This is a very good thing because people can go to one place for their quote and loan. It saves time and is super convenient. I have never done this but it seems to be getting more and more popular. Is there anything you can't do on the Internet? We may have to give this a try when it comes time to get ourselves something new to drive. Since we live out in the middle of nowhere, this will be very handy and easy access. Check it out to see what your quote will be for a new car!

Review of Blogging with Cents!

I received my first professional review today of Blogging with Cents. Ryan Shamus did it and, overall, did a great review I thought! If you head over to my other blog, you'll also see some of my October earnings, which I rarely disclose. I think it's kind of tacky but I have been getting requests to show some of them. I'm running some advertising specials too, so get in while the going is hot! Everything is 50% off! Woohoo!

Tempurpedic Mattress

This is blatant advertising but I will share my thoughts about a similiar product. While I was pregnant, I had so much trouble with my hips. I couldn't lay down to sleep at all! After trying several things, I finally decided to give those four inch memory foam mattresses a try per my sister-in-law's recommendation. Absolute genius!! It worked perfectly and still sleep on it today. Why did I bring this story up? It was memory foam that kept my hips from hurting so bad. The mattress conforms to your body and is just heaven. Because we loved this so much, we have considered buying a Tempurpedic mattress. While these are more on the expensive side, we also know they are worth every single cent. Our arms don't fall asleep anymore and we don't toss and turn like we used to. If our four inch mattress can do this, just think what a real bed memory foam mattress can do. I will say this. It took us about a week to adjust to the feeling of the foam. You can't just slide around or flip side to side like on a regular mattress but once you get used to it, it will be the best thing you've ever slept on. I have done some research and read reviews and Tempurpedic is one of the best foam mattresses on the market today. I highly encourage you to consider one of these when thinking about your future mattress purchase. I think I just talked myself into getting one.
Here is there guarantee:

We guarantee you will be 100% satisfied with our top-of-the-line memory
sleep systems. To prove it, we offer a 90-Day Sleep Trial and a 20 Year Warranty
that are among the strongest in the industry. Plus, we offer an everyday Low
Price Guarantee, Free Shipping, and Tax-Free shopping (Outside of TX).

Additions to Blogger

Have you seen the latest addition to blogger? Hey this is very cool and can earn you a few bucks! I'm all about making money!! This is what they have to say just in case you don't read their announcements in your dashboard.

AdSense recently introduced a feature called video units, that lets you include relevant YouTube video on your blog, and make money from ads on it. Here’s what they have to say about it:

"We're excited about the launch of video units -- a new way to enrich your blog
with quality, relevant video content in an embedded, customizable player. Simply
embed a snippet of code and have relevant YouTube partner content streamed to
your blog. You can choose categories of video to target to your site, select
content from individual YouTube partners, or have video automatically targeted
to your blog's content. Companion and text overlay ads are relevant and
non-intrusive. To further blend the YouTube player into your blog, you can also
customize the color scheme and layout as well as choose from three different
player sizes."
AdSense Help has some more information about video units. Once you’ve created the code for a video unit, you can easily add it to your blog’s template using an HTML/JavaScript page element.

Hire a Programmer to Create Your Logo

I have always had a secret passion for web design, however, I stink at it. If you're like me then you are probably better off hiring programmers for this sort of thing. If you are a serious blogger then you either want a custom web design or your own logo to make you stand out. This is something I'll be working on in the future to help brand this blog. What are you doing to help your blog stand out?

My New Blog - My Wooden Spoon

I just wanted to announce my new food/cooking blog. It's called My Wooden Spoon. I'll be talking about recipes, cooking tips and techniques, cookware, and whatever I can think of that's food related! If this is your cup of tea, then head over and check it out. I would love to do link exchanges with other food blogs. Let me know if your interested!

On MY Wish List

I would love to have one thing for Christmas. A Nikon digital SLR camera. I have always wanted one but they are very pricey so I usually don't even mention it around here because I know it's something I won't be getting for a long time. I do own a Sony Cybershot and love it! It's my second one and they last forever. This is how I take all my pictures and quick videos. I'm sure you have heard me say that photography is a passion of mine even though I don't get to indulge in it very often. I'm always taking pictures of my family but that's about it. Speaking of family--Christmas is coming and photos are always nice to hand out for the holidays. I've mentioned this before but I still think a digital picture frame would be a great gift to give. Especially for someone who works at an office. They can set it on their desk so when people are walking by, they can see pictures of the grandkids, kiddos, pets, or whatever you decided to put in the frame. Anyways, I do hope to get an SLR camera one of these days. I would love to go take pictures of the cowboys when they are working. I could still go but it would look so much more professional with one of those cameras. So, if any of my family is reading this, please feel free to take up a collection! HA!

Would You Sell Your Blog?

I would if I had a huge offer!! Everyone is selling blogs these days but I just don't know what I would do. I have so much work into mine that I would hate to start all over again. Of course, for the right price I would definitely consider it. Money talks and can make you do things that you wouldn't do in the first place! It's definitely worth thinking about if your blog has a good PR and decent traffic. Would YOU sell your blog?

Gambling Money Away or NOT

There are some fun things to do on the Internet these days and online gambling is one of them. I have never tried it but I think it would be fun to do. I love to gamble offline so why not try it online??!! You can play poker or even get it on sportsbook betting. It has come along ways! They make their sites user friendly by using a wallet system so you are able to deal with everything in one account. Because I live way out in the middle of no-mans land, this is definitely something I will be trying out. We love to go to casinos and have one within a 3 hours or so but that is still too far. It would be so much easier to play online and see if we had any beginner's luck. If you are like me and just don't get the time to go out on the town and gamble, then you should give this a try. I BET you will have fun and maybe strike it rich, who knows.

Shopping, Comparing, and Learning

savebuckets.co.uk is a place where you can compare prices and save money. There are many categories with lots of products to choose from and compare. The site is easy to use and fast loading. What I really like about the site, is that you can go under buying guide and pick a general product to learn more about it. For example: Irons--I want to buy an iron but I'm not sure what to look for. They provide you information to help you decide what kind of iron would be best for you. See below:

Irons: These are regular irons that will eliminate creases from your clothes, without the use of steam.
Steam irons: These models emit jets of steam through holes in the bottom plate. They get rid of stubborn creases and help you to get through your ironing faster than you would with a regular iron.
Travel irons: Smaller irons, great for packing and taking away with you.
Steam generator irons: These are irons with a separate water tank. They can hold more water than a regular steam iron, and are good for people who do large volumes of ironing.

The info is handy for people who don't know anything about irons! Check it out and save some money while you're there.
Here's some more info on the Holiday season.
GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST HAUNTS INDEBTED BRITS

- New price saving site launches to save Brits up to 20% this Christmas -

As the nation approaches the final countdown to Christmas, new research rings alarm bells over the financial impact of Christmas in credit crunch Britain. The research from the new money saving website Savebuckets.com reveals that as Brits prepare for Christmas, many are still paying off last year’s festive spending.

With 41 per cent of Britons paying for Christmas on credit last year, almost one in five are still paying for last year’s festivities (17%), fewer than one in three having cleared their Christmas debts when their January credit card bill arrived (29%).

Following a year of consumer confidence in 2006, Christmas spending soared 52 per cent in two years (from an average £548 per adult in 2004* to £837 per adult in 2006), with over one in five Brits spending over £1,000 on Christmas last year (22%). This year, with spending power at its lowest level for 10 years**, consumers are feeling the financial hangover from a more confident Christmas enjoyed on the credit card and loans.

Alarmingly, it is cash strapped youngsters and low income earners who, having spent the most on last Christmas, are most likely to be feeling the repercussions of last year’s spending spree (see figures below).

The research into the financial impacts of last Christmas amongst a GB representative sample of 2,000 British adults was carried out by the new money savings website Savebuckets.com which launches this week to enable Brits to get more for their money this Christmas.

With these alarming figures in mind, Savebuckets.com will give shoppers the opportunity to save up to 20% on their Christmas shopping. Putting consumers back in control of their spending, the site searches over 700 retailers for the best price on around one million products. The site includes a unique price checker which allows consumers to set the price they want to pay for items, notifying them when the price of a product falls to within their budget.

I just wanted to plug my other blog Blogging with Cents. If you haven't been over to visit my other blog, you really should. I provide many blogging tips, reviews, and more over there. These days you can simply go online and get Payday Loan Quotes to see how much might be available for you to borrow and what the payback is. The Dreaded Loan Application

Getting a loan doesn't have to be a nightmare and sometimes emergencies come up where you need immediately. There are Secured Home Loans out there for people who have less than perfect credit and need a loan for debt consilidation or, perhaps to just get something financed. Magic Loans offers this service (in the UK) and try to make it as painless as possible. You can apply online or request a callback. It's that simple. There is even a loan calculator for you to use on the website so you can figure up how much your repayment will be over a certain length of time. If you've had trouble in the past and you live in the UK, then it may be worth your time to check it out.

Blog for Sale

Since I have quite of few readers to this blog, I thought I would mention a blog that is up for sale. Cman is selling his blog. If you are intested, then you should head over and check out his stats. They are pretty darn good with a brand new pagerank! I hate to see him leave the blogging world because he has been my blogging mentor but I guess there are more important things in his life right now. Check it out and wish him well.

New Truck in the Works

We have been thinking about getting a new truck for 2008. I think our truck is great but the miles are adding up. Luckily, one thing we won't be worrying about this time at the dealership is getting offered bad credit loans. Why? Because we have worked super hard to make sure our credit is good. You should be on top of your credit report. Check it atleast two times a year to make sure everything is on the up and up. Oh, I hope we get a beautiful brown truck!

Forums Are Our Friend

I wrote on my other blog 'Blogging with Cents' about the benefits of forums and thought I would mention it here. It's a great way to increase traffic, gain friends, and take in a huge amount of knowledge. I would be lost if it wasn't for many of these forums. You can get answers to your questions fast. If you haven't been to that blog, then head on over and check it out. I provided a list of the ones I'm a part of and that may interest you as well. Just a tip: Make sure you keep up where you start threads and don't overwhelm yourself by registering with all of them. Start with one and go from there.

Calling All Policemen

Do you now what 5.11 Tactical is? If you're a policeman you do. HOORAH! Talk about a policeman's paradise, http://www.511tacticaloutdoors.com/ has everything these kind of guys are looking for and need. Everything from uniforms to holsters, it's your one stop shop for police gear. They even give freebie specials. Check them out and get your 911 on!

PR Update - How'd You Do?

Woohoo...the update has been done and my PR here at B Money Savvy went from a 0 to a 3!! Not too bad, eh! I was very excited for many reasons, number one being PayPerPost. This means I am qualified for MORE opps and bigger pay! There were many people who were dissappointed with the update but I can't complain. Now to keep my PR up or, perhaps, even increase it!! That would be awesome.

Faucet Makeover

The house we live in is pretty old and has ancient faucets. My mom recently bought a new Delta faucet and I thought about getting one for my kitchen. I would really like one that is tall because our sinks are pretty shallow. It's hard to get our big pans in the sink alone and even harder when the faucet is low. I hate spending money on these types of things so I'll be searching for a cost effective way to buy and install them. If you can install them yourself, you'll save a good chunk of change. They are pretty easy to install so you, a friend, or spouse should be able to do it.

Blog Makeover Coming Soon

Here in the next couple of weeks, I will be redesigning things here and changing stuff up. If you have any suggestions or critiques to give, please feel free to do that. I hope to make as smooth and painless as possible. I will be getting a new template, changing the categories up a bit, and adding some new info. Lots to look forward to!

Credit and How to Fix it

I have talked about how to repair credit before, but I think it's very important so I am discussing it again. If you want a cell phone, new car, or even insurance, you cannot have bad credit. You need good credit to get all these things. There's nothing more embarrassing than being denied when your at the store trying to apply for that in-store credit card.

There are many things that you can do to help your credit but if your credit is just awful, then you may want to consider some kind of help. There are agencies that help you repair your credit through a process. A company like Ovation Law can help you.

One of the first things I noticed when visiting this site was the BBB logo at the top right. I clicked on it to check the company out and was pleased with the overall results. They had very few "problems" and all were taken care of immediately. Their goal is to remove questionable items from your report-charge offs, repossessions, and incorrect personal information to list a few. If you have bad credit and are striving to improve it the right way, then this may be your answer. Ovation Law provides customized credit report repair, real time customer service, and tons of free information to repair credit through a painless process. They have ebooks available for download and offer an online video center showing you how credit report repair works.

They offer a full refund policy and even dedicated a page about the FTC and Ovation Law relationship. This tells me they care about their reputation and stand behind their practice with honor and respect. They are working for you and to help get your bad credit on the right path,

This all brings me back to the BBB logo. The best way to really learn how good a company is, is to check out there BBB file, which is proudly, displayed right in front. Read it, browse the Ovation Law site, and start experiencing good credit.

A Loan For Your Blogging Career

Are you a serious blogger? Would you consider personal loans just to setup your money making venture? If you did get a loan, what would you use it for?

I know some people have thought about this and you really need to evaluate your intentions and potential first. It's really easy to want to get a cash loan so you can get a new blog design, your own host & domain, and stuff for your home office but if you're not sure you'll succeed in your money making venture, why spend the extra dough. Start out free and work your way up. Make a plan and if you're going to buy anything, buy a domain name first. You can always transfer that from a free host to a paid host later. Take baby steps and don't get caught up in all the hype to redesign and such. Do what's best for you.

10 Tips for Becoming a Great Blogger

Successful blogging is not just about being the best writer on the web or even the most prolific. Being a successful blogger is about creating a connection with an audience by providing relevant content, nurturing that relationship with comments and links and keeping the dialogue flowing. Here are ten tips to get you started...

1. Understand the fundamentals of Blogger Relations

While anyone can set up a blog in a day and start publishing articles, it takes far more work to be a great blogger and see the real benefits of blogging. First, you need to have a blogging strategy that is in line with your PR strategy and business goals. Next, you have to provide relevant content. Most importantly, you must conduct what is called Blogger Relations. Blogger Relations is what blogging is all about—starting and maintaining a conversation. Unlike Public Relations or media relations where you are trying to pitch your story, with Blogger Relations you initiate and participate in ongoing discussions with other bloggers and your target audience. As the conversation progresses, you get to know the other players in your industry; you gain credibility by listening as well as commenting; and you gain new readers as other bloggers provide links back to your blog to give you credit for your ideas. The more you conduct Blogger Relations, the more successful your blogging will be.

I really have a mess going with my files and office supplies, that it has come to a point where I need to invest in some metal cabinets or something to put all this stuff in. I'm trying really hard to get organized so I can properly maintain my blogs. I have everything from tape for my dispensers to copy paper, notebooks, and more. What kinds of items do you use to stay organized? I could use some tips.

Scripting Scanner Download

Protecting your site from Cross Site Scripting is very important these days and if you haven't taken the precautions for this, you can Download Your Free Acunetix XSS Scanner today and yes, I said it's free.

There are literally hundreds of examples of cross-site scripting vulnerabilities available publicly. Just a couple examples to illustrate the different types of holes will be listed here.

An example of a type 0 vulnerability was once found in an error page produced by Bugzilla where JavaScript was used to write the current URL, through the document.location variable, to the page without any filtering or encoding. In this case, an attacker who controlled the URL might have been able to inject script, depending on the behavior of the browser in use. This vulnerability was fixed by encoding the special characters in the document.location string prior to writing it to the page.
A famous example for type 1 XSS vulnerabilities: Two XSS vulnerabilities in Google.com website were identified and published by Yair Amit in December 2005. The vulnerabilities allowed an attacker to impersonate legitimate members of Google's services or to mount a phishing attack. This publication presented an obscure way to bypass common XSS countermeasures by using UTF-7 encoded payloads.

What is Cross Site Scripting?
Cross Site Scripting allows an attacker to embed malicious JavaScript, VBScript, ActiveX, HTML, or Flash into a vulnerable dynamic page to fool the user, executing the script on his machine in order to gather data. The use of XSS might compromise private information, manipulate or steal cookies, create requests that can be mistaken for those of a valid user, or execute malicious code on the end-user systems. The data is usually formatted as a hyperlink containing malicious content and which is distributed over any possible means on the internet. Cross site scripting vulnerabilities are extremely dangerous and the number of the attacks is on the rise. More information about Cross Site Scripting can be found at http://www.acunetix.com/websitesecurity/cross-site-scripting.htm

Many a large-scale corporation has fallen prey to Cross Site Scripting (XSS), as it is one of the most common yet underestimated of web attacks. In August 2006, hackers stole the personal data of nearly 19,000 DSL equipment customers through a vulnerability in AT&T’s online store. Whereas in June 2006, PayPal users were tricked into giving away social security numbers, credit card details and other highly sensitive personal information through a cross site scripting vulnerability in the PayPal website.

A report from Mitre Corp., a US government funded research organization, issued in September 2006 indicated that Cross-Site scripting ranked first in a list of top security risks. In a study conducted by Acunetix, 42% of the websites scanned with Acunetix WVS were found to be vulnerable to Cross Site Scripting.

“Companies don’t realize the danger their web sites are under and are therefore reluctant to invest in web vulnerability scanners. Consequently, security officers don’t have the tools to protect their websites. The free XSS scanner will give security officers access to a professional cross site scanning tool, that will allow them to assess their web sites for the cross site scripting danger,” said Jonathan Spiteri, Technical Manager of Acunetix.

Scanning for XSS vulnerabilities with Acunetix WVS Free Edition
To check whether your website has cross site scripting vulnerabilities, download the free edition from http://www.acunetix.com/cross-site-scripting/scanner.htm. This version will scan any website / web application for XSS vulnerabilities and it will also reveal all the essential information related to it, such as the vulnerability location and remediation techniques. Scanning for XSS is normally a quick exercise (depending on the size of the web-site). A detailed guide how to scan for cross site scripting vulnerabilities can be found here http://www.acunetix.com/websitesecurity/xss.htm.

The Free Edition also allows you to sample what other threats Acunetix WVS can find by allowing you to scan the Acunetix test sites for vulnerabilities.

About Acunetix Web Vulnerability Scanner
Acunetix Web Vulnerability Scanner ensures website security by automatically checking for SQL injection, Cross site scripting and other vulnerabilities. It checks password strength on authentication pages and automatically audits shopping carts, forms, dynamic content and other web applications. As the scan is being completed, the software produces detailed reports that pinpoint where vulnerabilities exist. Acunetix WVS Reporting Application allows security alerts to be presented in a document which abides by the PCI Compliance specification.

About Acunetix
Acunetix was founded to combat the alarming rise in web attacks. Its flagship product, Acunetix Web Vulnerability Scanner, is the result of several years of development by a team of highly experienced security developers. Acunetix is a privately held company with headquarters based in Europe (Malta) and an office in London, UK. Your Own Website, Your Own Shopping Cart

Up until I had my baby, I had always been a big time seller on ebay. I did move away from ebay to build my own website. A shopping cart was a necessity if I wanted to have my own site. There are so many different kinds of software out there, that it can be overwhelming to choose one. Obviously, you can go through something like paypal but if you want a more professional alternative, then you should research a bit more. You want your customers to feel like they are making a safe transaction. You want the sale to go as smoothly as possible. These two things alone are worth finding and buying the best software out there. Some things to look for when choosing:

Setup--You want it to be simple and quick.
Inventory--Gift certificates, product reports, & bulk order processing are important features to have.
Layout & Web Design--You have to look for a fully customizable shopping cart theme editor.
Payment & Options--easy setup, real time processing, and multiple currencies accepted.
Sales Analysis--Traffic & keyword reports are essential, as well as, integration with accounting software.

These are all things to look for when getting ready to start your online business.

Are You Social?

I've often wondered if social networking is worth all the hype. I believe it can be beneficial to a personal blog, as well as, an internet marketing blog. Social networks bring online surfers, bloggers, and entrepenuers together into one place so that they can converse about the things that are important to each of them. The next thing you know, you have new traffic to your internet blog, people uniting with old friends or family, and big annoucements being made.

I think David Bayer covered the future of online social networking very well and provides some great insight on the subject. I, myself, will continue to participate in social networks because it benefits me personally and financially.

Link and They Will Come

I Think Therefore I Link is a great blogger motto, however, it is for the selfless. Just like in life, you have to "link" in order to receive "links".

Not all links are created equal either. While link farms and viral tags may increase your Technorati rating, they will NOT increase your PR. The best way to get your PR up is by getting links with the "PR big wigs". One link from a PR 5 is far more important than 10 links on a PR 1.

Another big issue is linking on other site with your main page URL. One of the best things you can do, is to link to a past article instead. This gets the reader to a more interesting article, which in returns, gets you a more traffic to the post but, more importantly, to your blog/website.

Want to know when someone else links to your site? Track Engine is a great place to start. I also check out Technorati to see who has linked to me. They update frequently.

In conclusion, be wise about you link to and don't get caught up in all the link farm hype. Link from other sites to your articles and you will get quality traffic.

Advertising Successfully

You would think that everyone in business would be able to tell you what they do and why you should be doing business with them; unfortunately the sad truth is many business executives can't. In fact one of the biggest problems in designing websites has always been getting appropriate raw material that can be turned into meaningful presentations: a handful of badly written brochures and a few out-of-date photographs are not going to make much of an impression.

And now that the Web has involved into a sophisticated communication platform, able to deliver audio and video content, the problem has become even worse; not only do websites need to deliver appropriate copy and image content, they need to present audio dialog and video performances that demonstrate how products and services improve the business or personal lives of website visitors.

As a company we are good at what we do, we can turn the mundane into the memorable but we can't do it if clients don't know or can't express their own marketing story, or are unwilling to allow their multimedia advisor to develop that story for them.

At the heart of the problem is fear, fear of making a definitive statement, declaring loud and clear what you do, and why anyone should care. It's no longer good enough to apply technical solutions to marketing problems: you are not going to engage your audience with SEO, XML, CSS, or PHP. You must have a story to tell and you can't be afraid to tell it as boldly as you can.

Do You Know Who You Are and What You Really Do?

We know who we are and what we do: we deliver our message knowing that some people are just not going to buy into what we have to say, but those that do get it, really get it, and they are our potential clients. As far as the others are concerned, well, there's lots of business for everybody, and nobody is going to get it all.

You can't be afraid to loose a customer you never had in the first place. In our case our job is clear: we deliver marketing stories using Web-video and audio in memorable Web-presentations. We are not afraid to tell clients that they need multimedia, and that an over dependence on search engine optimization or any other technical answer is a mistake - a big mistake.

Are You Doing All You Can To Attract Business?

There are many methods that can be employed to drive appropriate traffic to your site: search engine optimization is only one. Have you written and published articles and advice on what you do, have you created a blog or a MySpace page to create a community of interest, or have you issued press releases on new developments and product releases? If you're relying solely on search engine optimization as a substitute for marketing, you are not doing everything you can to attract new business.

Even if your search engine tactics are attracting large numbers of visitors to your site, what is your conversion rate, how long are people staying on your site, and do you have enough compelling content to get them to come back?
If you're in the business of selling banner and text ads on your site, if that is how you make your living, then lots of random traffic may serve your purpose; but if you are in the business of providing something useful to people, then you better pay more attention to what your visitors see once they arrive on your site. After all, all the traffic in the world is useless if those visitors don't get your message. It all starts with the message, so what's your message?

What's Your Story?

Crafting your marketing story is not as easy as it sounds, and you may have to let go of some outdated thinking in order to bring your story to life.
Web-videos are not feature films or even viral videos intended to show how clever you are. You are making a commercial: special effects may be cool but they are not a substitute for a finely crafted script delivered by a professional performer.

Websites Don't Close Sales, People Close Sales
Web-videos are designed to make a statement: "this is who we are, and this is what we do, so contact us to find out how we can change your life." Websites create leads, not sales; so don't expect your Web-video to make the sale, that's your job.

Now you know the purpose of your website presentation, it is time to figure out what you want to say. Below are a series of questions that will help you develop your marketing story.

1. How will your product or service change your customer?

All stories or marketing messages have to do with change: a cosmetic company provides change from plain to beautiful, from self-doubt to self-confidence. A vitamin supplement supplier provides change from poor health to good health, from sluggish to vitality. A self-help motivational program provides change from defeat to victory, from depression to wellbeing, and so on.

All good marketing stories highlight the change that your audience wants to make in their business or personal lives. Go deeper than the obvious look for the psychological, emotional, cognitive or spiritual change your company delivers.

All successful campaigns are about change. People who are satisfied with their work and life aren't motivated to be customers; you want to target people who are motivated, people who want to be better, stronger, smarter, prettier, healthier, and richer; people who want more out of work and more out of life.
If your audience isn't motivated to change and if your product or service can't deliver that change, then you're wasting your time and your money.

2. Is what you have to say different?

If you are saying the same thing, the same way as your competition, you're in trouble. You must differentiate yourself somehow; you must standout. Your product or service must provide something different. The world is full of 'me-too' companies, businesses that do the same thing as dozens of other businesses. You must find that unique something in what you offer that makes you different; that says you are not a follower but a leader.

If your product or service is substantially the same as your competitors, perhaps you should market it differently, or maybe you should concentrate on the 'High Concept' need it delivers, rather than the standard 'same-old-same-old' that everyone else is touting.

Which one of 'Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs' does your product or service fulfill: physical, safety, social, self-esteem, aesthetic, cognitive, or self-actualization? Chances are your competition has completely ignored the psychological and emotional marketing angle and is focusing on specifications and features that have little to do with why people really choose one product over another.

3. Do you know how to tell your story?

You must have more than a story to tell or a message to deliver; you must know how to tell it. Your marketing should create a recognizable corporate image that establishes a unique identity in the mind of your audience. If your audience sees no difference between you and the competition then you become interchangeable.

Apple didn't capture the lion's share of the MP3 market just because their product is arguable better than everyone else's, they did because iPods are more than MP3 players, they are a life-style choice, clearly delineated in commercials and advertising.

4. Can you say it boldly?

The meek may inherit the earth, but if they're in business, they'll probably go broke. If you got something to say, SAY IT, and say loud and clear. There are just too many companies, too many websites, too many advertisements, and too much everything to expect people to pay any attention to you if you are afraid to stand up and be noticed. Go boldly or don't go at all.

5. Who is your target audience?

Decide who you want to target and what motivates them; then design your website, videos, and advertising campaigns to trigger every hot button motivating message you can. Develop your message so it speaks directly to that audience.

Your message must have purpose, be focused and concise, and deliver a clear impression of identity. This means you can't be all things to all people. By focusing on a clear audience with a precise message you may even have a better chance of capturing non targeted audiences: the fact that Apple iPod commercials are aimed at a hip young audience has not stopped Apple from capturing MP3 market share across all demographic profiles.

6. Can you take the heat?

Last but not least, do you have what it takes to tell your story in a way that people will remember? Are you prepared to deliver your message in the boldest, most audacious manner you can? Are you ready to give up on none productive audiences and concentrate on those motivated to say yes to your message? Are you able to ignore the odd complaint or nasty email objecting to your cutting-edge approach? Are you ready for the Web-video revolution?

$500 Moooooolah Prize #2

JohnCow.com is giving away another $500 big ones with the help of Micfo, a web hosting company. Making money online is not as easy I thought it would be but the "Cowman" does a nice job of handing out info and tips to make it easier. The humor that is added to the blog is what keeps me intested the most though. What the $500 giveaway what do for me!! It would make my dream a reality.

Photography is my passion and oh how I would love a brand new Nikon SLR digital camera. I have been saving for this camera for about a year now. Total saved so far is $475. It would be more but when you are raising 3 kiddos, well,...no explanation needed. So that leaves me with needing $484-tax and all to get the camera of my dreams. With the remaining $16 bucks, I would by my husband a 30-pk. of Keystone Light! He deserves it;)
I take pictures of mostly the cowboys on the ranch but I long for more. I think I have an eye for it and would like to think that it woudn't be a complete waste of my time. Everybody wants pictures taken for events or of the family and I could do that as a hobby but with hopes of a full time position in the future;)

Schedule Posts for a Future Date in Blogger

Schedule your posts for a future date in Blogger.  Most blogspot bloggers don't know about this so I thought I would share this super handy info with you.  Blogger Buster tells you how to do this and more.  She has some really cool scrolling headlines and a super easy way to have a label cloud on your blog!  I already applied the label cloud to my A Cowboy's Wife and will be adding it here in the next few days.  Since blogger doesn't offer this feature within the Dashboard, I think this is great if you will be away or just have a few posts thought up already and need to schedule them.

Are You Killing Yourself?

We all participate in link exchanges but how many can kill your site? A link to your site has traditionally been accepted by Search Engines as a vote for your site. A link from a topic or theme-related site to yours is better than a link from a site having a completely different topic.

BUT, things have changed. The fact is, Google doesn't approve of link-building schemes, and have recently made the leash a bit shorter.

Bad links can kill your site. Say you get involved in a link building foursome with a porn site you didn't even know you were linked to because you're too busy linking to everyone; you have just created a bad link and this will have a negative impact on your site.

Reciprocal Links are helpful but worthless at the same time. You link to a site in exchange for a link on their site. A link from you to someone else basically deducts one vote from your total vote count... meaning its value is minimal when compared to a 1-way incoming back-link!

1-way Outward Links really are one of the worst things you can do to increase your PR. Yes, it's selfish but that's how it is the big world of money hungry sharks. You gain nothing by giving out links with no return. This is why people participate in the no-follow attribute. By doing this, your basically telling the search engines that link is not a vote for your site by that site. Get it? Please know that I do not recommend being selfish. It will only come back to bite you in the butt. If you share, you gain potential readers and maybe future linkbacks.

It's imperative to build links relating to your posts and post titles. Don't link to just your sites name. That doesn't help at all.

Do some research on keywords and your posts and when your linking, be sure to connect the two. It takes time and a little bit of trial & error but if done right, your PR will shoot up.

Repair Your Credit with Ovation Law

One of the first things I noticed when visiting this site was the BBB logo at the top right. I clicked on it to check the company out and was pleased with the overall results. They had very few "problems" and all were taken care of immediately. Credit Repair is Ovation's Law main focus. Their goal is to remove questionable items from your report-charge offs, repossessions, and incorrect personal information to list a few. What Do You Know About Loans and Credit

One thing I strive hard to do is take care of my credit. You need good credit to get just about anything these days-Cellphones, car, home telephone, and even insurance to name a few. I struggled with paying bills for many years before I finally learned what credit repair means and what it can do to improve my score and overall report.
Other important issues to be educated about are auto loans. You need to know what auto loan exactly means, what terms you are agreeing to, and how to caculate the payments for the loan you are applying for. And if you have bad credit, chances are you won't good as good of a deal as you would have if you had better credit. Educate yourself about personal loans, credit, and credit repair. Take charge of your life.

Use Your Tool

I have come across some really handy sites to check statitics, PR, and more. I thought I'd share a few with you.

Ping your site with Dosh Ping. It pings all the bigwigs so your site gets crawled faster.

Website grader checks your website out and tells you how fast, slow, whether or not you have too much html, as well as some other statistics.

You really should be using Google Analytics for several reasons. Analytics is Google's very own visitor tracking utility, allowing webmasters to keep tabs on traffic to their site, including visitor numbers, traffic sources, visitor behaviour & trends, times spent on the site and a host of other information gathered via two pieces of JavaScript embedded in the source-code. It can provide so much information that will help you improve your site overall.

Keywords are very important. Some of the better keyword research tools:
a. SEOmoz's Keyword Difficulty Tool - this tool from one of the great SEO innovators gives you a good general idea of how competitive your keyword/phrase is.
b. Trellian's Keyword Discovery Tool - user-friendly, simple, and feature-rich. One of the best keyword research tools available.
c. WordTracker Keywords - second to none, WordTracker has been a leader in keyword research for years. A great value.

Take Action Against Spammers

I just recently noticed my entire content on another site without my permission. They are getting it through my feed. Don't ask me how because I really don't know how it all works. I will tell you this. If you come across a site that has "taken" your content, then you need to do a couple of things.
First, you need to leave a comment asking them to remove the content from their site.
Second, you need to report it. The site I found was on Blogspot, so I reported it to Blogger, as well as, Google.
Third, you can put a warning in your feed footer. Something like "if you are not reading this at ______, then you are reading stolen content." I would also include an email so they can inform you of any thieves they come across.

I came across an informative article on this just a few minutes ago. Check out "How to Complain and Report Spam Blogger Blogs" over at Quick Online Tips.

Darren, over at Problogger was kind enough to reply to my email about this situation. He was already aware of the situation because his content is on this site as well. Thank you Darren for the lightning fast reply to my email.

DoshTalk Forum

I love to browse forums these days. You can learn some valuable information, as well as, meet some great new friends. One that is new but quickly becoming one of my favorites is DoshTalk. I really like the layout. It's more eye appealing than your average forum and is very user friendly. One of my favorite things about it, which I just learned this evening, is that there is only section where you are allowed to post your affiliate links and such. The rest of the forum is off limits to this kind of marketing. I think this is great. It means, there is a better chance of getting REAL infomation instead of someone trying to "sell" something. I recommend you check it out when you get a chance. I have found it informative and enjoyable.

eDisclosures....Documents Delivered Electronically

What is one of the things you hate about getting a loan? Paperwork.
eDisclosures solves this problem by eliminating the paperwork and submitting your disclosures through an electronic process. This will save you time and money. Just about everything can be done electronically so why not give this a shot. This would eliminate a lot of hassle. We do our taxes online and have those delivered digitally so why not give eDisclosures a try for your loans, mortagages, and settlements.

Be Credit Card Savvy

Being debt free means having no credit cards and paying everything in cash. Chances are you have at least 1 credit card that carries a balance. Most of us have several unnecessary cards that are eating extra money from our pockets. The goal is to manage your debts accordingly.
After my parents filed for bankruptcy several years ago, I knew I didn't want that to happen to me so I looked into credit counseling to learn more about credit card debt and how to use them. I learned which cards would be best for me and which ones you NEVER need to apply for. Another interesting note is that if your credit is pretty good, you can actually call your credit card company and request a lower APR. High interest is what bites us in the butt.

CareOneCredit.com offers an array of topics but one of them I found interesting was "The Dirty Dozen Credit Card Traps". It basically talks about the fine print on credit card terms and conditions. Did you know that if you have a balance over so much, and you are late on a payment, that the fee is higher than it would be if the balance were lower? There are many things you can do to protect yourself from these fees. If you need advice when applying for a credit card, I highly suggest you visit CareOneCredit.com. Make yourself aware and be responsible with your credit cards.

The WizTrade Blog....Keeping Customers Informed

If the stock market is of interest to you, then you should check out The Wizetrade Blog. This blog is a way to communicate with the current or potential customers of WizeTrade. It is a relatively new blog about the stock market and securities. They provide tips for new traders and offer stock market analysis on any stock symbol. This is really a great idea. People can exchange comments with what's going on in the stock market world, perhaps offer their own experience, ask questions, or learn some things to make their stock trading experience a good one. You'll find informative articles and, some, with videos or pictures to give you a visualization of what is being conveyed. If you are already familiar with WizeTrade but haven't seen the blog, then head on over and check it out. If you are new to stock trading and want to learn more or perhaps get their leading software, then you too should check it out.

Get Your Boat into Shape at DougRussel.com

We recently were given a boat that is around 20 plus years old and was in need of some boat parts. Aside from needing a complete physical makeover, it also needed some kind of pack that makes it run, a battery, and a transmission. It's really hard to find these parts around here in west Texas so I had to go online. That's when I came across DougRussel.com. You can buy from their website or even their ebay auctions. They have thousands of parts, trailers, and you can even buy a boat from them if you want!! If you're boat is sitting out there like ours was, then you need to head on over and get your boat parts ordered so you can enjoy the rest of the summer or perhaps some fall fishing.

Blogspot to Website for FREE

I have been contemplating on getting my own website. Blogspot is fine for "A Cowboy's Wife" but for my B Money Savvy, it's not.(Which is need of a HUGE overhaul!)

One of the main issues that has kept me from switching is, of course, the cost. I was lucky enough to come across a featured article about How to Make Your Own Website for Free. Yep, you heard it right...for FREE! Obviously, a free website may have certain limitations that a paid website might not have but it would be a great start. Not to mention, a website has more respect than blogspot.

Jay over at Online Opportunity explains in a 4-part series how to get started and even provides images for us morons;) I think, after reading the article, I'm ready for this change and feel confident that I can set it up myself. I really want my "money" blog to succeed and having a website will be an enormous improvement.

If you have any advice, tips, or just want to put your 2 cents in...then please feel free to leave a comment.
